Robert Parker: California: Perfume, Poise and Structure – Santa Barbara County's 2023 Vintage

Like much of the Central Coast, the 2023 vintage in Santa Barbara County delivered wines with fragrant aromatics, expressive energy and refined tannin structures, offering both immediate appeal and long-term potential. The wines also clearly reflect the individual winery's philosophy and intentions, as the harvest was largely free of conditions that could have forced the producer's hand. Coupled with excellent acid retention and pronounced textural depth, yields were average or above average, resulting in a rare combination of high quality and economically viable quantities.
